Unique Properties of Titanium Metal

Titanium is known for its exceptional qualities, making it an essential material in many high-performance applications. Here are some of its standout features:

High Melting Point:

With a melting point of around 1,668°C (3,034°F), titanium can handle very high temperatures, making it suitable for jet engines, gas turbines, and heat exchangers.

High Strength-to-Weight Ratio:

Titanium is as strong as steel but much lighter, making it perfect for applications where both strength and weight reduction are crucial, such as in aerospace and sports equipment.

Biocompatibility

Titanium is non-toxic and well-tolerated by the human body, which is why it’s commonly used in medical implants, prosthetics, and surgical tools.

Non-Magnetic

Titanium doesn’t interfere with magnetic fields, making it suitable for electronic devices and MRI machines.

Corrosion Resistance:

Titanium resists corrosion even in harsh environments like seawater and acidic conditions. This makes it ideal for marine applications, chemical processing, and medical implants.

High Fatigue Resistance

Titanium can withstand repeated stress cycles, which is essential for aircraft and structural components that experience cyclic loading.

Our Titanium Metal Product Manufacturing

At SIZEN, our titanium metal product manufacturing process using powder metallurgy ensures exceptional quality and performance. Here’s a step-by-step overview of how we achieve this:

Titanium Sponge Production

We start by producing titanium sponge through the reduction of titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) using magnesium in a high-temperature environment. This process results in a porous, sponge-like form of titanium known for its purity and consistency.

Powder Production

The titanium sponge is then ground into a fine powder. This step is crucial for ensuring uniform particle size and distribution, which are essential for the subsequent manufacturing steps.

Blending

The titanium powder is carefully blended to achieve a consistent mix. This ensures uniformity in the final product, which is vital for maintaining the desired mechanical properties and quality.

Compaction

The blended titanium powder is compacted into the desired shape using high-pressure presses. This forms a “green” compact that resembles the final product but lacks the necessary strength and density.

Sintering

The green compact is sintered in a high-temperature furnace. During sintering, the compacted powder is heated below its melting point,
causing the particles to bond together. This step significantly increases the strength and density of the titanium product.

Secondary Operations

Depending on the product’s specifications, secondary operations such as machining, grinding, or surface treatments are performed. These processes ensure that the final product meets precise dimensional and surface quality requirements.

Quality Control

Quality is paramount in our manufacturing process. We conduct rigorous inspections and tests throughout each step, including non-destructive testing, chemical analysis, and mechanical testing, to verify the material’s properties and consistency.

Final Inspection

Before any product leaves our facility, it undergoes a final inspection to ensure it meets all customer requirements and industry standards.
This guarantees you receive a product that is ready for immediate use.
